Thoughts: Ruby was a pretty good contender for a top fave, but I was disappointed when I pulled her out. She's the only one without the round black nose, which makes her a little more monstery and less cutesy. But only one of the nostrils on mine showed! I had to trim the fur with scissors to make the other visible. Now that she's got a definitely nose, she's much cuter. She's a big girl, too. 13 inches, my ass. Maybe 13" seated! I'm expecting her to be a great cuddler like Amethyst. 

TOPAZ BLU

Thoughts: Okay, honestly, this one is my least favorite, but she immediately grabbed Bedrock the ogre's hand and Bedrock is one of my surprise loves from the previous series. So Topaz may end up on equal par with the other girls yet. 

EMERALD LOU

Thoughts: I love Emmy Lou more than I expected to. She's not much bigger than Sapphire and her legs are also pretty much permanently seated. Her colors though! It's interesting that they only went with green accents on her even though she's Emerald. I like the peach hair and ears and toes. I think she's the only one with thumbs! Each one has different hands and feet. 

SAPPHIRE SUE

Thoughts: If there was going to be one I would have guessed as my fave, it would be Sapphire because I'm a September kid and that's my birthstone. I love her coloring and her little face. The main issue with the faces on these is that their plush can obscure some of the features. Sapphire's smile shows clearly on her right side, but not so much on the left. She looks very mischievous though and of course I'm here for that. She's the smallest of the bunch, which makes her actually the least cuddly. I like them a little bit bigger than she is and the smaller ones from this series are almost stuck in a seated position. Her legs don't flop down like Amethyst's or Ruby's. But that aside, she definitely still is cuddly and I love her. She's just not my clear favorite in person. 

AMETHYST BOO

Thoughts: I absolutely adore the new gemstone trolls Bearhouse line, but they had a horrible time getting to me, thanks to screw ups by both the US Cubhouse (incorrect measurements and weight, leading to me having to pay almost $25 to get my box) and USPS (did not hand off the package to the pick up location until a day after I was told I could pick it up, so they were stuck there for the entire holiday weekend). But they're finally here and I love them all. I don't have a clear favorite, though I think Amethyst is the best made of the five. Her face is perfect, though it may not look it in photos. I love how lanky she is and she's so soft!

FIRE ELF

Thoughts: I honestly did not notice how tall Fire was until I took him out of the box. At 17", he's a full three inches taller than Water, who's the next closest one. He's also taller than both Tree Elf and Meadow Troll, so he definitely feels huge compared to the rest of his fellow creatures. But it works. I don't think I was edging toward a favorite from this set when they first came out, though if I was, it was Earth. But now it's Fire. He's bigger but not heavy and he's super cuddly. I ended up getting my second choice on him, but I'm actually thrilled because while my first pick had the sweetest face, this one has EYELINER. And now that he's home, I think that's preferable. 

WIND ELF

Thoughts: Ooh, so cute! I'm glad the final two elves arrived from this past year's elemental series. Wind is the second smallest one, though she's only half an inch shorter than Water. She's a little frosty fluff ball of cuteness. 

NOVA

Thoughts: I've had poor Nova for a while and didn't get around to photographing her. She's one of the smaller dragons in this style. I love her fur, which is the same as Confetti's. She's soft, cute and detailed, just like all these dragons. 

BEDROCK

Thoughts: And finally, we have Bedrock, the last of the ogres. He's 10", which puts him only an inch shorter than Quarry and Cobblestone, but he feels smaller than that. Not as small as Pebble though. Maybe it's because he's not as bulky as the big guys. All of these fellows are on the ugly cute side, which I love.
