Thoughts: I was not 100% on Rhys. I saw a really cute one from another stockist, but then my stockist had this one, so I picked him. He's super soft, thick Tyber, so he's very cuddly in person, and it didn't take me long to love him as much as I loved the other one's face. He's got a smooshy fat tummy and he slumps a little bit, so there's something about him you just want to cuddle.

Thoughts: Beetle was my second most wanted from the year after Bodmin. She does not disappoint! Her longer fur is silky soft and I love her beetley tummy. The antennae are soft and very poseable, so if you want to hug her, you can simply smooth them down and they won't poke you in the face. She sits like the gargoyles do, so I think that's who she's going to go hang out with on display.

Thoughts: Rummy is a bear I almost was going to cancel. There's something about his set of bears from this year's collection that doesn't translate as well into physical form. Like a lot of them look goofy. He's got crooked ears, which doesn't really bother me, but a lot of them have misshapen, wrinkled or badly cut eye whites. But I did end up liking this particular one and he's burgundy tyber, which I'm a bit of a sucker for. I didn't take a photo of it, but he's got a weirdly long neck. He needs that bow there just to look normal. He's cute and I don't regret getting him, but definitely be picky if you want a bear from his set.

Thoughts: Atlas is from the prehistoric Bearhouse collection of 2023. He's enormous! I was definitely not expecting him to be as big as he is. He's got unusual fur, which I like. He's supposed to be an Atlas bear, but that basically looked like a regular brown bear. This Atlas to me looks like a megatherium, a type of extinct giant ground sloth.
One thing that bears don't have are long, thick tails. Atlas has a huge tail.
He's very cute with his smiling face and teeny tiny ears. I love him and I've always liked megatherium, so that's what he is to me.

After Helene, I saw that he and Neverland were now on the CB Direct site and I learned that I could buy them using my Affirm card. Heh heh. Probably something I would have been better off not knowing! But work was kicking my butt and I earned a treat or two. Gisburn is super soft, though not tyber, and he's small but not too small. I swear he's plumo, though the site doesn't say and I'm too lazy to go look at his tag. He's wonderful though.

Thoughts: Oh, what a little sweetheart. I knew I needed Paprika when I saw him, because he reminds me of two of my earliest bears: Allsorts and Penny Chew. Well, not so much Penny, as she has gray, but definitely Allsorts, and for me, those two are a package deal, as they came from the same stockist. Paprika has this sad little face and his head is angled forward a bit. You just want to comfort him. He also has a big white belly that sticks out, so he's quite cuddly, even though he's little. He has very soft fur and I definitely recommend him.

I fell in love with this particular one and was waiting for payday to order. Then Michal appeared and I was able to get both in one order. Thankfully, the other person to purchase Baptiste fell for the other bear, as mine was the only one left when I ordered! Baptiste is a good size and his different types of plush are very soft. He has good joints and nice movement. I think bears like him would be an excellent alternative if CBs are a little too high-priced for anyone. He's wonderfully cuddly and I absolutely adore him.

Thoughts: I fell in love with some Michals from Australia and the UK, but opted to wait to see what American stockists got in. I ended up finally finding the one I wanted and he was worth waiting for. There are two types of face I like on this bear. One is the more standard cute face. The other is what you see here. I think of it as the Trifle face. The eyes are closer together and the face looks rather small in a larger head. I find it endearing. Michal is very soft. His arms are bent a bit by the paws so they curve for a nice hug. Not one I had planned on getting, but owner/stockist pics are the best advertisements.

Thoughts: I only have a few, but I love bears with this head shape and then the round ears off to the side a little more. JD is a very unusual fabric. I was not expecting it to be textured, but the peachy bits are shorter pile than the rest. I fell for this guy when my stockist put up pics. JD was on my maybe list, but this one had to be mine. When I saw him, I thought, "Oh, I love him, even with his misshapen head." But his head isn't misshapen at all. That indent under his left ear is where the fabric changes pile length. He's incredibly soft and quite cuddly, though his head is on the firm side.

Thoughts: I have waited years to find just the right Emil. He's a random plush, so no two will be alike. I saw one many years ago that had a lot of dark on his face and that's what I wanted. Unfortunately, I kept finding him with an almost entirely gray face. I looked him up on ebay on a whim and discovered this guy, who's perfectly what I wanted, so I had to get him home. He's one of the tall, skinny variety of bears, which makes him cuddly and huggable, but not too heavy and he doesn't take up much space. I'm so happy to finally meet him!

Thoughts: Treacle became my recent bear obsession after seeing some from Lovely Bears. I was planning on waiting until she hit the US, but then I decided why not now? I shopped around but missed out on another I liked. Then I checked ebay and found an Australian seller that had three to choose from. I've never seen one with this type of face so I ended up choosing her over the face I was actually expecting to pick. I'm absolutely in love with this bear. I can be picky about the long-haired ones, but she's perfect. I think her fur is the silkiest I've ever felt on a long pile CB. She's a little harder packed with stuffing, but she's quite cuddly anyway. Definitely highly recommend.

Thoughts: I fell for this particular Hugh and then when the stockist had a sale, I could not resist bringing him home. Like most Bearhouse, he seems far larger than his listed height. His legs are quite long and he has a nice, thick dino tail. Definitely not a T-Rex though. I hate when they get animals mixed up. It happens oddly frequently. Kiri the cheetah was called a leopard. The ferrets were meerkats. Atlas the atlas bear looks more like a megatherium (giant ground sloth) than Tardy does. I'm not assigning any particular species to Hugh, but with three fingers, he's not a Tyrannosaur. He's super, super soft. Likely tyber. If this isn't the same fabric they used on Grumbleweed, it's something extremely close. He's quite cuddly, even though his teeth are a bit rough.

Thoughts: Third time's the charm! I knew when I saw Mardi Gras that I had to add him to my collection. However, this was one of the first times I've gotten a bear from CB Direct that I wasn't satisfied with. Normally, I have really good luck, but not this time. When he turned up on QVC, I ordered two more. I opened the first one and he wasn't much different from my original, but then I opened this guy pictured here and finally, here was the Mardi Gras I was expecting. I'm returning the other two to QVC. (It has way easier returns than CB Direct.) Nothing against my original guy. I was growing fonder of him and he is cute, but this one is what I wanted.
